Fantastic Dentist. This is my third attempt at finding just the right dentist. I moved from Kentucky 2 years ago and all the dentist before Canyon seemed to rush through my cleanings to get to a sales pitch on all the work I could have done. Not Canyon. They cared about me and did not push me into anything. Thanks Canyon Dentistry, Dr. Chen and his friendly staff!!!
Best dentist I have ever been to. Staff is super nice. The Doctor and Hygienist are knowledgeable and very thorough. Can't say enough about this place. Really look no further...I mean yelp other dentists in Irvine...the stars and number of reviews don't come close to this place. My wife was just as satisfied after her cleaning as well.
I only have good things to say about Dr. Chen and Canyon Dentistry. I needed a dental implant for a permanent tooth I was born without, but the space between the neighboring teeth was quite small, right on the border of being too narrow for an implant.
Dr. Chen worked with me despite my difficult situation, and I now have a beautiful implant thanks to his hard work. He also fit me into his schedule with short notice on multiple occasions when the bonding broke on my temporary tooth (a placeholder bonded to the neighboring teeth to fill the space before I had the implant).
He rebonded the placeholder multiple times at no extra charge, which was especially generous considering that it was simply a temporary solution my previous dentist employed to hold the space for a future implant.
All the staff at Canyon Dentistry are wonderful as well. Also worth noting is their awesome system for reminding you of upcoming appointments. They will send a text message to confirm upcoming appointments about a week out, and then again on the day of an appointment several hours in advance. This was extremely useful for me since I am terrible at remembering my appointments.
Do be careful not to miss appointments, as you'll be charged $75 for not showing up. It really shouldn't happen as their system is excellent at reminding you of when you have an upcoming appointment (still, it happened to me once, so just be mindful of it).

Dr Chen is outstanding! I've never been to a dentist with his patience and attention to detail. I first visited him for a second opinion on getting a crown. He pointed out some things I should consider before making any decision, which turned out to be very helpful. Anyway the crown was eventually installed by Dr Chen and I couldn't be happier.
I returned a couple months later for a cleaning and his hygienist suggested replacing 2 silver fillings which were about 35 years old. Dr Chen agreed and fit me into his schedule the following week. I was very pleased and impressed with how meticulous he was in grinding and polishing the final bite for a perfect fit!
Besides Dr Chen, his front office assistant Megan and dental assistant Dawn are both super friendly and highly professional.
If you need dental work of any kind, I highly recommend Dr Chen at Canyon Dental!
Dr Chen and his staff are so great! I have been a patient of theirs for almost 5 years. This review is long overdue.
Dr Chen recently repaired a cavity for me. He was very gentle and explained what he was doing throughout the process which helped put me at ease. And the best part was that when I needed to be numbed, it was almost painless. He is a GREAT doctor.
Dr Chen's staff is equally as amazing. I recently had a change in my dental insurance and the ladies in the front office were great at helping make it a smooth transition. They have always been good at answering any billing questions that I have and are very proactive. They're so friendly and great with appointment reminders. The hygienists are also wonderful. Anytime that you almost fall asleep in the chair, I think it's a good sign! :)

Dr. Chen has truly made an amazing impact on my life by resting my smile. My complex implant journey was made possible and successful by Dr. Chen, as other surgeons said It was impossible. He took my case as a challenge and proved to be a master of perfection, compassionate and truly the best dentist/surgeon ever. In addition, the entire office staff were supportive and caring throughout the entire process.
I thank Dr. Chen and his staff from the bottom of my heart for giving me an even more perfect smile :-)
I usually don't leave reviews, but thought this dentist is worthy of praise. I was referred to Dr. Chen by my husband who has been a patient for many years. I've been very pleased with my experience so far and I have to say Dr. Chen is one of the best dentists I've ever had. He really takes the time to explain his treatment and makes you feel at ease. His attention to detail is remarkable. His dental hygienist is also very knowledgeable and gentle. His staff is very friendly and welcoming. 5 stars for sure.
